211 Child Development Care Coordinator A contact center professional who helps Connecticut parents and providers navigate the state’s child development services, including Birth to Three Early Intervention, Early Childhood Special Education, Help Me Grow, and Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs. What You Will Do Help parents use and understand validated tools to screen for developmental issues. Provide assistance and support to parents and children needing specialized developmental/behavioral supports. Serve as a trusted source of support and information, connecting families to programs through direct referrals. Assist parents over the phone with questions related to health, development, behavior, and learning. Follow up with parents to ensure full understanding of available services. Provide care coordination to families living within the North Hartford Promise Zone as part of the Ascend project. When and Where You Will Work This is a full‑time position, Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. After training, you may work a hybrid schedule: teleworking with one day per week in the office. Hourly Rate $22.61 – $23.95 The Benefits Spanish‑ or Portuguese‑speaking applicants who pass certification receive an additional $0.75 per hour (an additional $1.50 per hour for both languages). Requirements Bachelor’s degree in special education, early child development, or another related health and human services field plus at least one year’s experience with children and families; or an Associate’s degree with three years of experience; or a high school diploma with five years of experience. Experience with and demonstrated knowledge of Birth to Three and/or special education systems. Knowledge of typical and atypical child development, special needs conditions, and Connecticut’s service delivery systems for children and their families. Knowledge of other children’s services, including parent education programs, family support programs, and/or the child welfare system. Strong written and verbal communication, listening, organization, and priority‑setting skills. Proficiency with telephone and data systems, including MS Office applications. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in day‑to‑day duties. Bilingual in English and Spanish (Preferred).
