Maintenance Mechanic - 3rd shift (10pm-6:30am)

Must-Have Skills

• Industrial mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
• Welding experience, including MIG and/or TIG
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and follow safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout

Short Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Mechanic to support the reliability and safe operation of equipment within a manufacturing facility. This role will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, repair production equipment, and partner with Production and Quality teams to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned preventative maintenance tasks and work orders on schedule.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery and facility equipment.
• Inspect machinery and equipment for proper operation and identify unusual sounds, performance issues, or potential failures.
• Diagnose mechanical and equipment problems and determine appropriate repairs.
• Disassemble defective machinery and equipment and install repaired or replacement components.
• Maintain and repair hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
• Perform basic MIG and TIG welding as needed for maintenance and repair activities.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain bearings, gears, shafts, and other machine components.
• Assist with maintaining the physical structure and general condition of the facility.
• Partner with Production, Quality, and other departments to address equipment and operational needs.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, as well as Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Complete maintenance documentation, daily reports, and work orders accurately.
• Follow applicable environmental and facility procedures.
• Perform additional maintenance duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of related industrial maintenance or manufacturing experience, or 4 years of direct industrial maintenance experience.
• Technical, vocational, or associate degree in industrial maintenance or a related field is preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical maintenance, hydraulics, electrical/electronic systems, and welding.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and interpret equipment manuals and work instructions.
• Ability to read and complete work orders and maintenance documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work productively with team members, supervisors, and outside contractors.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate powered industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, or similar equipment.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with established procedures.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment that may include wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, machinery, chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles.
• Noise levels may vary and can be elevated in production areas.
• Regularly stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use hands to handle tools and equipment.
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds with appropriate assistance or lifting equipment.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to safely perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
