Job Summary The Warehouse Lead will supply our valued customers with the necessary items they need to grow their business every day. The responsibility of this role is to direct the day-today warehouse activities including receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Direct and perform a variety of warehousing duties such as loading, checking, order picking, and shipping. Monitor and verify the accuracy of outbound shipments. Ensure that all customer orders and branch transfers are filled, packaged, loaded and delivered correctly and on time. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage. Monitor equipment maintenance and housekeeping. Lead the team concerning best practices, and proper procedures and ensure a safe and productive work environment. Assist and direct efficiency inventory management and cycle counts. Participate in ordering or purchasing standard stock items, such as recommending additions or deletions to standard stock items or ordering replenishments within established procedures and limits. Assist in the training and development of Warehouse associates. May monitor attendance, hours worked and job performance. Be courteous in all contact with company customers. Minimum Qualifications Basic computer operation skills Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and attention to detail Effective communication skills Customer focused and team oriented Ability to safely lift packages and objects sometimes exceeding 50 pounds Physical ability to stand on your feet most of the day Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, Ability to read, write, and communicate proficiently in English to perform the essential functions of the position, follow safety procedures, understand work-related instructions, and complete required documentation. Preferred Qualifications Two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of PEAK I & II if applicable. Experience operating forklifts or other materials handling equipment Experience in operating large vehicles in tight and congested areas Why work for Irby?
