Supervisory AccountantThe Supervisory Accountant is solely responsible for the day-to-day operations of the agent cashier, accounting, employee travel, and all auditing functions in the Finance Service. Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Maintenance of a computerized double-entry method of recording transaction in accountsPossess the expert skills and experience spanning the full range of asset, liability, income and expense accounts found in the usual commercial systemSolely responsible for the maintenance of the Financial Management System (FMS)Solely responsible for the following systems to include but are not limited to: IFCAP, AR, FAP, Maximo, CCS, IPPS, VPFS, VATAS, Concur and FMSPossess advanced accounting skills and knowledge to extract information from these complex systemsProvide instruction and technical expertise on fund control point management and employee travel trainingLead and facilitate service line level training on accounting and travel needs for the medical center and external VISN or VACO programsAdministers an accounting system designed to track, reconcile, and report on agency administered programs and/or appropriations for which the agency has legislative oversight responsibilityValidates a variety of accounting data which is entered into schedules and accountsReconciles accounts and prepares financial reportsPerforms duties associated with the management and control of resources or fundsPrepares reports from a variety of sources identifying problem areas and containing an analysis and recommendations for improvementProvides technical knowledge and expertise for the employee travel program at the medical centerKnowledgeable in the computerized travel system Concur to ensure all federal travel rules and regulations are being followedProvides technical and administrative supervisory authority over one Lead accountant, two accountants, four accounting technicians and one TellerResponsible for the oversight and evaluating the validity of the accounting records, audits and quality reviewsWork Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pmTelework: This position may be authorized for ad-hoc telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process. Virtual: Yes, ADHOC- as determined by the agency policy. Incumbent occasionally carries books and papers weighing up to 15 pounds to and from meetings away from the work site.
