Position Summary The Env Svcs Wkr/Housekeeper position is responsible for cleaning duties to maintain a clean and aseptic environment throughout the hospital. The role may be assigned to one of several duties including patient area cleaner, non‑patient area cleaner, trash technician, special care unit cleaner, and other roles as needed. The employee will maintain a professional demeanor in accordance with service excellence standards while interacting with patients, their families (including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics), and coworkers. Job Duties and Responsibilities Clean and service specified areas according to assignments: sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting all rooms. Participate in project work such as wall washing, window washing, cleaning light fixtures, upholstery, changing cubicle curtains and drapes, cleaning vents, scrubbing restrooms, floor stripping, and carpet extraction. Perform routine and repetitive tasks under close supervision, ensuring safety policies, procedures, and Medi‑Dyn standards are followed. Report any unsafe working conditions or hazards to management immediately. Plan and execute tasks considering timing, supplies, and equipment availability; make judgment on feasibility and rescheduling. Qualifications Education: Ability to understand and communicate in English verbally and in writing; high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience: Previous experience not required; training 1–3 years. Licensure/Certification: None required. Physical and Sensory Requirements Standing/Walking: Continuous; majority of day feet. Bending/stooping: Frequent; required for washing, sweeping, trash handling, etc. Lifting/Handling: Occasional; up to 50 pounds. Carrying: Frequent; push/pull cleaning cart, beds, furniture.
