General Superintendent – Heavy Civil Construction

About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced General Superintendent to lead field operations across multiple heavy civil construction projects. This is a senior leadership role focused on driving execution, supporting field teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
You’ll partner closely with project managers and executive leadership while mentoring superintendents and foremen in the field. If you’re a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys optimizing performance across multiple projects, this is a great opportunity to make an impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee field operations across multiple heavy civil projects
- Lead and support superintendents, foremen, and field crews
- Drive project schedules, production goals, and overall execution
- Manage resource allocation (labor, equipment, materials)
- Monitor job costs, budgets, and progress performance
- Collaborate with project managers and leadership to resolve issues in real time
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and all state/federal regulations
- Maintain strong communication with field teams, clients, agencies, and stakeholders
- Foster a team-oriented, high-performance work environment
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in heavy civil construction
- Proven experience managing multiple projects or crews simultaneously
- Proficiency with job cost tracking software (e.g., HCSS, JDE, or similar)
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize deadlines and adapt in fast-paced environments
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and compliance
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Willingness to work extended hours, nights, and weekends as needed
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
