PowerBI Developer

Randstad's client in Washington, D.C. is seeking a skilled Senior Power BI and IBM Cognos Report Developer to join their team. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, transforming and modeling data, and creating visually engaging and interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI. The developer will also work on maintaining and updating existing IBM Cognos reports, ensuring data accuracy, and contributing to the organization's data-driven decision-making process. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of data architecture, experience in managing end-to-end Power BI projects, and the ability to lead workshops for gathering business requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and create data visualizations.
• Design and develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models.
• Utilize Power Query for data transformation and DAX scripting for performance optimization.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity in all BI solutions.
• Manage end-to-end Power BI projects, from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Design and develop enterprise reports and dashboards using IBM Cognos.
• Update and maintain existing reports in IBM Cognos.
• Create and manage SQL queries for data analysis.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in BI.
• Install, configure, and support BI tools.
• Develop semantic layers for the organization's BI tools.
• Deliver end-user training and support.
• Implement and administer BI security models.
• Mentor and provide technical coaching to less-experienced team members.
