As a Software Engineer III at Indeed, you will contribute to the development and evolution of software systems that support core products and services used by people around the world. You'll work on improving existing platforms while also helping shape next-generation solutions as Indeed continues to scale globally.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and data partners to translate requirements into well-designed, maintainable software. You'll participate in technical discussions, contribute to design decisions within your team, and continuously build your skills while solving meaningful, real-world problems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain features and services that support core business workflows.
• Contribute to the evolution of existing systems while helping prototype and deliver new capabilities.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions to maintain quality, reliability, and clarity.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data partners to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Identify performance and scalability improvements and enhance existing code accordingly.
• Share knowledge and provide guidance to teammates through collaboration and feedback.
• Communicate technical ideas clearly and effectively within the team.

Skills/Competencies

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or a Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience; or a PhD without experience
• Experience building or contributing to large-scale or distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and core computer science fundamentals.
• A demonstrated sense of ownership and accountability for delivered work.
• Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and enjoyment of solving complex technical problems.

Salary Range Transparency

Tier 1 - United States of America 118,000-178,000

Tier 2 - United States of America 131,000 - 197,000 USD per year

Tier 3 - United States of America 145,000- 217,000

Tier 4 - n/a

Tier 5 - United States of America 166,000- 248,000

The salary range for this role reflects the minimum and maximum compensation for the role. Offers are typically made between the range minimum and the range midpoint. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process. The range(s) listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), a Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits. Compensation may also vary based on where a role is performed, as work locations are grouped into geographic pay tiers to reflect cost of labor differences in different geographic markets.
