Responsibilities Behavioral Health Worker Opportunity – Midwest Center for Youth and Families (a subsidiary of UHS) has been in operation since 1997, serving youth across the country that are in need of psychiatric treatment for a variety of mental health issues. The Midwest Center is a respected healthcare provider, fully accredited, 74‑bed private, residential treatment facility with locations in Valparaiso and Kouts, IN. We are dedicated to caring for the hearts and minds of our patients with compassion and superior quality behavioral healthcare services through our full‑immersion Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program for children and adolescents ages 10‑18 who struggle with emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. Website: The Behavioral Health Worker is a vital part of Midwest Center for Youth and Families’ treatment team. This is a full‑time, 40‑hour per week position. Available schedules include Sunday‑Thursday (schedule premium of $2 per hour) and Tuesday‑Saturday (schedule premium of $3 per hour). There is a competitive shift differential for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Current Openings Day shift (7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.) Evening shift (3 p.m. – 11 p.m.) Overnight shift (11 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.) Per Diem / PRN position (requires working 1 weekday and 1 weekend day per biweekly pay period) Who You Are It’s the opportunity to make a difference that drives you. As a Behavioral Health Worker, you will: Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment. Implement elements of treatment plans and identified interventions to provide quality care. Document and communicate client behaviors. Follow clinical and unit programming. Assist with patient groups and activities. Provide DBT skills coaching with patients. Qualifications Requirements High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. One year of experience working in a psychiatric setting with patients aged 10‑18 years preferred. College student who has obtained or is pursuing a degree in behavioral health, psychology, nursing, or human services preferred.
