Details Work in the PCU (15E James) unit focused on Acute Leukemia and Hematology care Primarily cares for newly diagnosed adult and geriatric acute leukemia patients Staffing ratio goal of 1:4, with potential for 1:5 12-hour shifts available in Day (7:00-19:30) or Night (19:00-7:30) rotations May be scheduled as a rotating Day/Night contract based on department needs, with assignments reviewed every 4-week period Variable weekend requirements based on unit needs Uses Epic for computerized charting Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS, and ONS Chemo Certification preferred Minimum 2 years of current acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience required Acute care experience must be current and consistent within the last 12 months Oncology experience preferred; training provided for oncology patient care Skilled in telemetry monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and accessing/managing ports Experience with blood product administration, central line and PICC line care/management, and peripheral line care Feeding tube care and management experience Experience utilizing Rapid Response Teams Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted Additional Information Special unit focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention No chemo certification required for this role First-time travelers will be considered Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system RTO must be submitted with contract and limited to 7 days or less Local candidates accepted at the same rate Mandatory Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently after signing contract, with candidates responsible for prompt completion whether driving to a location in-state or completing a mailed fingerprinting packet American Traveler Job ID P-742709.
