Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate care nursing for a wide variety of patient diagnoses, including cardiac, pulmonary, renal, GI, sepsis, and both chronic and acute medical and surgical conditions
• Manage a 3:1 patient ratio in a 16-bed intermediate care unit
• Perform telemetry monitoring, interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
• Provide ventilator management as required by patient acuity
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records
• Float as needed within the unit and participate in every-other-weekend scheduling

• Active WV RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Demonstrated experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and ventilator management
• COVID-19 vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions considered on a case-by-case basis
• Must have a permanent address greater than 100 miles from the facility; candidates residing 75-100 miles away may be considered on a case-by-case basis

• Prior experience in an intermediate care, PCU, or stepdown unit setting
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records
• Experience managing a diverse medical-surgical patient population including sepsis and cardiac conditions

• Work at a Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital affiliated with the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH), offering a dynamic and educational clinical environment
