Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Unit Details: Nurse-patient ratios: days 1:5, nights 1:5-6. Common diagnoses/patient types include medical acute patients such as pneumonia, heart failure, sepsis, COPD, urologic, surgical, total joints, general surgery, and occasional pediatric respiratory illness. RNs do not titrate drips. Charge nurse and administrative supervisor are on each shift; charge nurse takes 1-2 patients. PCT support: days 1:8-10, evenings 1:9-10, nights 1:10-12. Uses BiPAP (home regimen) and high-flow; BiPAP patients should be stable and alert. RNs monitor their own telemetry strips; virtual central telemetry monitoring with Philips monitors.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Holiday rotation required. Nights: Memorial Day Eve, July 3rd, Labor Day Eve, Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve.

Floating Requirements: May float to ICU for general acute overflow patients or to Ottawa Campus (25 miles from Peru) to staff greatest need. If floating to Ottawa Campus, clinicians will be notified at least 2 hours prior to the start of the shift.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months

1 reference required from within the last 3 years

Driver’s license required for submission
