Lead HVAC Installation Technician

Great Lakes Heating & Air Conditioning is hiring a full-time Lead HVAC Installation Technician in South Bend, IN. You receive hourly compensation with PRU piece-rate incentives, placing annual earnings between $40,000 and $85,000 . ABOUT THIS LEAD HVAC INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN ROLE Your day begins with a 7:30 a.m. shop check-in, followed by installation work during standard hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Schedules flex based on job completion, with additional overtime, evening, and on-call opportunities. You oversee residential HVAC installations, guide efficient equipment removal and replacement, and ensure quality standards are met every step of the way. You handle water heater installations, coordinate recycling of outdated systems during slower seasons, support construction-style projects, and help prepare inventory and processes for peak demand. Your leadership keeps projects running smoothly and customers confident in their comfort solutions. CRITERIA TO BECOME OUR LEAD HVAC INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN Valid driver's license Familiar with basic hand tools Familiar with using an iPad Ability to use a 2-wheeled dolly/handcart Physical ability to properly and safely lift and carry heavy items such as furnaces and air conditioners with assistance Ability to travel to homes throughout our Michigan and Indiana service areas (70-minute drive from our South Bend address) 5+ years of experience in the Residential HVAC field is a plus EPA Type II Certified is preferred We are looking for candidates with 0 years or 5+ years of experience in the HVAC field who are eager to learn, willing to embrace change, and committed to enhancing their skills.
