Licensed Practical Nurse

Sign on bonus of $2,000 paid at $250 a quarter over a 12-month period POSITION SUMMARY: In conjunction with the RN/Unit Director, the Licensed Practical Nurse utilizes a general understanding of the principles of nursing and basic physical assessment skills in the development of and implementation of individualized nursing care plans to ensure that the needs of the residents are met. He/she assists in the orientation of and supervision of nursing personnel, attends to the daily operations of the unit per shift, unit level, and assumes responsibilities of a leadership role. RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1Takes an active role in direct resident assessment and care; 2Administers medication and/or treatment and documentation of same to residents; 3Responsible for clinical documentation related to resident activity; 4Assists in developing and implementing resident care plan and nursing care plan; 5Counts and records class drugs when beginning and ending shift; 6Communicates pertinent data to charge nurse, superior and/or physician; 7Provides for emotional and physical comfort and safety of residents; 8Assists physician in rounds and examination of residents, as needed; 9Supervises and coordinates nursing personnel in providing direct resident care in adherence with state andfederal regulations; 10Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights; 11Performs other duties as requested. SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 1The Licensed Practical Nurse must be a graduate of an approved school for practical or vocational nursing and must be currently licensed by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing. 2Experience is preferred in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing. #J-18808-Ljbffr
