Join our team as a Senior Transmission Line Engineer, where you will serve as the technical lead for transmission line projects, supporting execution of high-voltage infrastructure (138 kV & 345 kV).In this role, you will define project scope, lead routing and siting efforts, and provide engineering leadership to ensure projects are technically sound and executable. You will coordinate closely with the Engineer of Record (EOR), construction teams, and internal stakeholders to guide projects from concept through construction and commissioning.While you will not manage overall project cost and schedule, you will provide critical technical inputs and assumptions that support development of project estimates and timelines. You will work closely with the Senior Project Manager, ensuring alignment between scope, engineering, and field execution.ResponsibilitiesDefine and develop project scope including routing, alignment, structures, and ROW assumptionsLead routing, siting, and permitting coordination and evaluation of alternativesProvide technical input for cost estimates and schedulesCoordinate with EOR to guide design and ensure alignment with scope and standardsReview engineering deliverables for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with standardsSupport development of structure design, line configurations, and foundation considerationsAlign engineering deliverables with project schedule and communicate scope changesSupport construction through RFIs, issue resolution, and field coordinationMaintain visibility into engineering progress, risks, and constructabilityLead standards development and continuous improvementSupport WBS alignment, PR inputs, and vendor coordinationCollaborate with cross-functional teams including PCM, Construction, and EnvironmentalRequired SkillsBachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or equivalent)Minimum 7+ years of experience in transmission line engineering or project execution within electric utilities or EPC firms Demonstrated experience supporting design reviews, value engineering, and constructability assessments Experience supporting development of project scope, schedule, and cost inputs for small- to mid-scale transmission projects, or serving as a project lead engineer Familiarity with industry tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and applicable codes (e.g., NESC, ASCE, IEEE) Experience coordinating and managing external consultants, including Engineer of Record (EOR) and owner’s engineering teams Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to support multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously Demonstrated ability to operate with a high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional environment, collaborating across engineering, construction, and support teams Experience working within utility environments, including coordination with environmental, permitting, operations, and stakeholder groupsPreferred Skills & ExperienceProfessional Engineer (PE) license Familiarity with transmission line siting and regulatory processes Experience supporting right-of-way (ROW) acquisition, including coordination with landowners and stakeholdersExperience working within ERCOT or similar utility markets Experience identifying and implementing cost and schedule optimization opportunities during design and executionFamiliarity with vendor engagement and equipment procurement processes, including technical bid evaluationsExposure to digital project delivery tools (ProjectWise, or similar platforms)

A strong understanding of electric power systems, including high-voltage transmission and operational technologies and grid protocols within the ERCOT system.Proven leadership and management experience, including the ability to guide and develop teams.Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, solve problems and adapt to changing technologies and situations.Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.Familiarity with relevant regulations, operating protocols and industry standards.Skilled at providing leadership within a highly dynamic and nimble organization based on successful cross-functional teaming.Personally displays and encourages extreme ownership skills.

This is a Permanent position based out of Dallas, TX.

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $160000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
