Position: Molding Process Technician
Location: Rochester, NY 14625
Duration: 9 months
Pay: $30/hr (Weekly Pay)
Shift: 7 -4pm Mon - Fri
We are looking for a Molding Setup Technician with hands-on experience setting up Extrusion Blow Molding (EBM) or Injection Blow Molding (IBM) machines. The technician will set up molds, adjust machine settings, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure machines produce quality plastic parts safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Set up and start molding machines for production.
Install, remove, and align molds and tooling.
Adjust temperature, pressure, cycle time, and other machine settings.
Perform first-piece inspections and check product quality.
Troubleshoot molding and machine issues.
Monitor machines during production and make adjustments as needed.
Perform basic maintenance on molds and equipment.
Follow safety rules and company procedures.
Complete setup and production paperwork.
Work with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
2+ years of molding setup or processing experience preferred.
Hands-on EBM or IBM setup experience is required.
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of plastics and molding processes.
Experience with molds, tooling, and molding equipment.
Preferred Skills
Experience with robotics and automation.
Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and adjust molding processes.
Important Note
This position requires someone who can physically set up molds and run/process plastic products. A packaging engineer or packaging-only candidate without molding setup experience would not be a fit.
