Pharmacy Specialist

Evaluate and verify medication orders for Outpatient Infusion Center

Coordinate care transitions between acute inpatient stays and outpatient infusion center appointments

Select appropriate therapy for patients based on clinical factors and reimbursement parameters

Evaluate patient-specific information, such as labs, imaging, disease state, and other medication therapy to ensure patient safety and to optimize efficacy for patients receiving infusions

Communicate effectively with medical and nursing staff to ensure appropriate therapy for infusion center patients

Provide counseling on outpatient treatment side effects as needed

Serve as a liaison for patient assistance programs

Complete reimbursement analysis on new medication requests, and update as payer changes arise

Optimize infusion center formulary based on medication costs, reimbursement, and clinical factors

Serve as the primary clinical resource for hospital-based physicians, oncology teams, and infusion center nursing staff

Create, edit, and maintain various order sets to be used for the infusion center

Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a Pharm D degree from an accredited college of pharmacy

Pharmacy Residency preferred, but not required

Experience: Preferred experience working with MediTech EMR

Preferred familiarity/experience working with infusion center reimbursement models

Licensure/Certification: Licensed and in good standing with the OK State Board of Pharmacy

Compensation/Benefits: Up to $81.87/hr. based on previous work experience
