Job Title: RN Clinical Perioperative Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Inpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: M-F 7:15 am - 3:30 pm Experience: Less than 1 year preferred License: RN - Registered Nurse (Single State or Multi-state Compact) Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support (or equivalent) Must-Have: - Ability to read, write, and speak the English language. - Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, along with customer service skills. - Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies with decisiveness, composure, and respect. - Excellent time management skills. - Ability to utilize evidence and analytical skills in nursing practice. - Strong critical thinking skills. Description: The RN Clinical Perioperative Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, and safe patient care. This role requires adherence to professional practice standards and the implementation of effective nursing practices. Clinical care is guided by evidence-based practice, analytical and critical thinking skills, ensuring care is individualized. The nurse provides relationship-based, patient-centered care consistent with the unique characteristics of the patient. Engagement with the patient and their significant others is essential in all aspects of care. The RN Clinical Perioperative Nurse coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care. Demonstrating teamwork and collaboration is crucial for optimizing patient care outcomes. Participation in performance improvement initiatives is expected, supporting all stakeholders involved. The nurse promotes evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance metrics in patient care. Compliance with all relevant policies and procedures is mandatory, ensuring adherence to safety goals. Participation in data collection and addressing clinical questions through evidence is part of the role. Proactive planning for patient care throughout the continuum is required. The RN Clinical Perioperative Nurse collaborates with care managers to achieve best practice outcomes. Contributions to the development of protocols and procedures are encouraged. Additional duties may be assigned. All employees must comply with organizational policies and the standards of work. Current and future professional competency assessments and mandatory education are required. Serves as a mentor for other nursing professionals and ensures a qualified workforce.
