Job Description
Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. This position involves providing comprehensive emergency medical services to patients of all age groups, working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate must be willing to float to other units and locations as needed and is required to work weekends and holidays as specified.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to emergency department patients.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Assess patient conditions and implement appropriate interventions.
• Participate in triage and prioritize patient care based on acuity levels.
• Maintain a safe and effective environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Licenses: Valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or a Compact license (No temporary licenses accepted).
• Certifications:
  
  
  • AHA ACLS
  • AHA BLS
  • AHA PALS
  • NIH or Red Cross certification
  • TNCC required
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency nursing; candidates with 18 months of experience under the highest level of professional license will be considered if accompanied by 2 years of experience in the specialty field.

Work Environment

The emergency department is staffed 24/7 by a highly trained team dedicated to meeting the community's needs. Our facility is a designated Level III Trauma Center and a Level II Stroke Center, treating over 60,000 patients annually. Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for other patients.
