The company provides 24/7/365 service support with a team of 10 full-time technicians covering all of New England. Power Up maintains a robust parts inventory and fully stocked four-wheel-drive service vehicles to ensure timely and reliable service. The company also operates a fleet of 65 rental units ranging from 20KW to 2MW and offers turnkey rental services including delivery, installation, and refueling. Role Description The Diesel Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Greater Boston. The Diesel Technician will perform routine and complex maintenance and repair on diesel generators and related equipment, including diagnostics, parts replacement, and system testing. Daily responsibilities include conducting preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, documenting service activities, and ensuring vehicles and tools are properly maintained. The role also involves responding to service calls, supporting rental and installation projects, and communicating clearly with customers and team members to explain work performed and recommend follow-up actions. This position requires adherence to safety standards and company procedures while delivering reliable, high-quality service in the field. Qualifications Strong maintenance skills, including Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair of diesel generators and related equipment. Experience with Preventive Maintenance practices to ensure reliable performance and reduce downtime. Proficient Troubleshooting abilities for mechanical, electrical, and control system issues. Effective Customer Service skills to interact professionally with clients, explain technical information, and represent the company positively. Prior experience as a diesel technician, generator technician, or similar role preferred. Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions and occasionally outside standard business hours. Familiarity with safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and proper use of PPE. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate service vehicles.
