About the role

As an Azure Cloud Architect, you will lead the design, implementation, and management of scalable, secure cloud-based solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. You will be responsible for defining the cloud strategy, overseeing migrations, and ensuring that technical architectures align with business goals. Your expertise in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) will be critical in automating deployments and modernizing our application ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Design: Create comprehensive Azure reference architectures and functional design specifications
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design and maintain automated resource provisioning using Terraform modules to ensure scalable, repeatable deployments.
• Container Orchestration: Lead the deployment and management of Kubernetes clusters (AKS) and containerized applications using Docker.
• Cloud Migration & Modernization: Assess on-premises workloads and lead application modernization efforts toward Azure-native services.
• Security & Compliance: Implement robust security controls, including identity management (IAM), encryption, and compliance with standards such as GDPR or ISO 27xxx & ISO 42001
• Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize Azure infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the technical liaison between build teams and infrastructure team, translating complex technical requirements into actionable strategies.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and design specifically with Microsoft Azure.
• 8–10 years of progressive experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud platforms, DevOps, and enterprise systems architecture, including hands‑on leadership in designing, deploying, and managing scalable cloud‑native environments.
• Technical Mastery: Proven expertise in Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Deep knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (AKS), including authoring Helm charts.
• Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert is highly preferred.
• Skills: Strong problem‑solving abilities and excellent communication skills for effective cross‑functional collaboration, mentorship, and stakeholder alignment. Proven ability to delegate effectively, review code, remove blockers, and keep projects moving forward in a fast‑paced infrastructure environment while serving as a trusted right‑hand partner to infrastructure leadership.

Compensation varies based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, key skills, and geographic location.

Benefit offerings for full‑time employment include medical, dental, vision, term life and AD&D insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits, wellness plans, and a 401k plan or a non‑qualified deferred compensation plan. Available paid leave includes Personal Time Off (PTO) on an accrual basis up to 152 hours a year, 10 Paid Holidays, 1 Community Service Day, and up to 6 weeks of Paid Parental Leave. PTO and holiday hours are prorated based on hire date within the calendar year.
