Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist with experience in assessing and treating pediatric patients experiencing feeding and eating difficulties. This role includes the chance to provide general pediatric developmental occupational therapy coverage as well.

Position Details

• Location: Plaza location for orientation/training; subsequent work in a designated pediatric care facility in California.
• Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (08:00 - 18:30), Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (off Wednesday); start and end times may vary by approximately 30 minutes due to paperwork.
• Length of Assignment: 20 weeks.
• Guaranteed Hours: Hours are guaranteed following the compliance call-off policy.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of pediatric patients with feeding disorders and related challenges.
• Develop and implement individualized intervention plans targeting feeding difficulties such as Pediatric Feeding Disorder, Oral Aversion, Dysphagia, ARFID, Failure to Thrive, and other associated diagnoses.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic patient care and support.
• Utilize your expertise to independently evaluate and treat a full caseload of patients primarily referred for pediatric feeding disorders.

Patient Population

The position will involve working with pediatric patients ranging in age from 8 months to 18 years, with common diagnoses including:

• Pediatric Feeding Disorder
• Oral Aversion
• Feeding Difficulties
• Dysphagia
• ARFID
• Failure to Thrive
• Autism
• Developmental Delay
• Motor Delay
• Fine Motor Delay
• Sensory Processing Difficulties

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA accredited program; a Bachelor's degree is acceptable if graduated prior to 2004.
• Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in pediatric occupational therapy with a focus on feeding and swallowing disorders.
• Pediatric hospital experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
• Current BLS certification and NBCOT certification required.
• California Occupational Therapy License required or eligibility to obtain one.

Professional Development

Candidates are encouraged to share their approach to developing skills in feeding assessment and intervention, including formal coursework, mentorship, continuing education, and any on-the-job training they have received in this area.
