Mammography TechnologistOperates mammography equipment to produce radiographic images of the breast for screening exams under the general supervision of a radiologist.Job Responsibilities:-Performs timely screening mammography, with less than 5% repeat XXXX.-Enters accurate patient history and charges off exam.-Explains exam in a manner patient can understand, gains patient cooperation and reduces patient anxiety.-Complies with all departmental and hospital policies.-Performs other duties as required by lead technologist or manager.-Decision Making: Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited, and standard policies/protocols have been established.-Working Relationships: Works directly with patients and/or customers.-Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction.-Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction.-Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.Required Skills & Experience:-Zero (0) - six (6) months of related experience.-Competent to perform screening mammograms on men and women of mammography age 18 - 100 years.-Demonstrated skills and knowledge of mammography unit and basic positioning skills.-Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.-Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.-Ability to be detail oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.Preferred Skills & Experience:-N/ARequired Education:-Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.-Must have completed or will complete within nine months from hire date, 40 hours documented training specific to mammography and 8 hours modality specific digital training in accordance with Mammograph Quality Standards Act.Preferred Education:-N/ARequired Certification & Licensure:-Registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and must be ARRT Certified in Mammography within nine months from date of hire.
