Make a positive difference in the lives of students by providing specialized instruction in a supportive academic environment. This contract opportunity offers a chance to work with children and adolescents requiring special education services, implementing individualized plans and collaborating with fellow educators and families.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Possess an active Special Education Teacher certification valid in Louisiana
  • Experience working with children or adolescents in a school setting (special education experience preferred)
  • Skilled in adapting curriculum and teaching strategies for diverse learner needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with parents, staff, and administration
  • Ability to manage and document student progress effectively
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and engaging classroom environment

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
  • Adapt lessons and instruction for a variety of learning abilities and challenges
  • Assess student progress, modify interventions as needed, and maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and family members
  • Support classroom assistants and paraprofessionals in daily instruction and behavioral management
  • Foster a positive learning atmosphere that promotes growth, confidence, and independence
