Business Central Developer / Architect

Salary: $130,000 - 150,000 per year Requirements:

• We need 5+ years of software development experience, including at least 3+ years working with Business Central or NAV as a developer on AL, extensions, and the API layer, not only as a functional consultant.
• We need experience designing custom APIs and system-to-system integrations using REST, OData, JSON, and OAuth, ideally with API pages and staging-table patterns.
• We look for hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and data lake architectures, along with working knowledge of AWS services such as S3 and Lambda.
• We require experience with Business Central data migration and conversion, including configuration packages or import pipelines, master-data cleanup, opening balances, reconciliation, and cutover.
• We need a solid command of BC financials, including GL, dimensions, posting groups, AP, AR, cash management, bank reconciliation, and job costing in BC or a comparable ERP environment.
• We expect strong SQL skills and familiarity with financial and ERP data models such as GL, subledgers, and dimensions.
• We require source control and CI/CD experience, including Azure DevOps or GitHub and automated deployment of Business Central extensions.
• We need the ability to map a process end to end, verify field mappings before building, and document the solution for future operators.
• We require that you be located in or able to commute to Irvine, CA, as this is a full-time in-office role.

• We own the 4E to Business Central integration from end to end, including custom API pages, staging tables, one-way master data sync, controlled-field approval workflows, scheduled return feeds, idempotency, retries, monitoring, and a complete audit trail.
• We handle data conversion and migration into the new Business Central company, including mapping, import templates, master-data cleanup, opening and open sub-ledger balances, reconciliation, and cutover.
• We build AL extensions using Microsofts extension model rather than modifying the base application, covering dimensions, posting groups, job-costing structure, and BC-side data that must remain intact.
• We implement the Binary Stream MEM structure, using the entity as the global dimension, managing intercompany tracking, entity-level security, and consolidation.
• We develop the data platform, including Azure Data Factory pipelines, a data lake, and AWS services for ingestion, transformation, and reporting.
• We support EDI with trading partners and the Paychex payroll import into the general and project journals.
• We configure financial workflows alongside the consultant and then take technical ownership of AP with EFT, AR with cash application by project, bank reconciliation and statement import, payment-run approval, and Positive Pay.
• We support job costing processes, including non-inventory project expenses, task and planning-line tracking, cost capture from purchase orders and invoices, and WIP and percent-complete reporting in Power BI.
• We produce technical specifications, field mappings, and runbooks that remain useful beyond a single project.
• We provide post-go-live support, help extend the platform to our other ventures, and lay the groundwork for exposing Business Central to external AI assistants through APIs and MCP-style integrations.
