For more information, visit .ResponsibilitiesThe Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager at Eastman’s Chestertown, Maryland site provides overarching personal safety, process safety and environmental leadership for the site. In this role, you will manage one HSE professional, assume accountability for site HSE performance and embrace and foster strong partnership with Chestertown Manufacturing leadership. The role reports up through the SFE and CI Regional Division HSE branch of the Global Health, Safety, and Environmental organization. This role will have parallel responsibilities within the CI Manufacturing organization which will include oversight of site environmental projects.Responsibilities:Joint responsibility (with Manufacturing) for overall HSE performance at the Chestertown site and responsibility for driving continual improvement in that performanceUnderstand and execute all permits at the site Assure site environmental compliance Lead team in execution of key elements of permits with support from the regional environmental compliance groupWork with HSES Specialist to audit for complianceOversee, through HSES Specialist, leadership the aspects of site programs such as industrial hygiene, Lockout/Tagout, electrical safety, emergency response, Life Critical Processes and other HSE elementsProvide leadership and direction for HSE initiatives throughout the siteBe a voice for the site regarding upward communication for all HSE site programs and responsibilitiesServe as primary contact with Maryland Department of Environment and other governmental agencies to represent Eastman and siteServe as key member of the PSGC. Facilitate this team for the site.Trained as a study leader for PHAsDevelop operational expertise in the utilities area, including WWT, boilers, cooling water and thermal oil systemsExecute project work at the site associated with the utilities areasScope developmentExecution with contractorsParticipate as a key member of the site leadership teamCoordinate site tracking of metrics and key performance indicators, recordkeeping and reportingManage and participate in the execution of safety audits, walk through inspections and design reviewsManage the Chestertown HSE budgetCoordinate and perform training in various efforts of HSEQualificationsBachelor's degree in environmental, biology, occupational health and safety, engineering or other related discipline requiredAt least 3 years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment requiredExperience in chemical or petrochemical industry highly preferredIndustrial wastewater experience highly preferredExperience managing an HSE team preferredPrior people leadership and coaching experience preferredGood interpersonal, communication and team skillsStrong customer focus, with demonstrated ability to solve complex issues and work in partnership with Manufacturing and other stakeholdersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsNoteEastman will not accept applicants for this offered position who require visa sponsorship, including those whose status is F-1 visa OPT who subsequently would require ongoing visa sponsorship.The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $137,500 per year.At Eastman, we are committed to transparency and integrity in our compensation practices.
