Unit Name: CSSU

Number of Beds: 15 beds

Patient Ratios: 4:1

Unit Staffing Description: 1-2 LNA support available

Type of Equipment: GE Monitors, Hamilton Bipap and Hiflo, Baxter IV Pumps, Hemospheres

Documentation System: Meditech Expanse

Scheduling Requirements: 12 shifts per month (3 shifts weekly), including 4 weekend shifts. Scheduling is managed by department leadership considering RTO (Requested Time Off).

Floating Policy: Floating will occur on a rotational basis, with Travelers floating first.

Patient Experience Requirements: MyCare boards are updated at each shift during bedside report, which is conducted at every shift change.

Unit Certifications:

Comprehensive Stroke Center

Level 2 Trauma Center

Requested Skill Set:

Must Have:

Strong telemetry skills

Experience in titrating vasoactive medications (e.g., levophed, phenylephrine, dopamine, dobutamine)

Experience with chest tube management

Preferred: Candidates with the following skills will be prioritized:

Arterial Lines

Flo-Tracs

Temporary Pacing

Procedures Performed on Unit:

Temporary Pacing

Pre-operative preparation for cardiovascular surgery

Chest-tube removal, arterial line removal

Certifications Required:

ACLS

BLS

Dress Code: Scrubs (color does not matter).

Additional Information:

Specialization in Cardiovascular and Vascular surgery

Access to mobility team support

Patient monitoring via a central monitoring station
