Key Responsibilities
  • Implementing thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary tests, and devising customized care strategies
  • Identifying and managing urgent, episodic, or chronic health conditions in partnership with physicians or autonomously (based on credentialing)
  • Providing education to patients and families regarding prevention, wellness, and illness management
  • Prescribing medications and treatment modalities in accordance with your professional scope
  • Engaging in patient follow-up and ongoing care management for chronic conditions
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, integrated care
  • Accurately documenting all findings and interactions in electronic medical records (EMR)
Education Requirements
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Required Certifications
  • Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in Texas
  • National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or similar specialty
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to secure these within 90 days)
