This individual contributor role is responsible for providing assistance with event planning and reporting of Celebration of Life personalized services designed to create a meaningful remembrance that reflects the life and passions of the families’ loved ones. This includes reserving special rooms, food, and creating mementos. Effective communication skills and attention to detail is required to stay on schedule with daily tasks.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESEvent Planning FrameworkWork with locations’ leaders to schedule staff training for events and packagesAssist Manager with training documents and presentationsWork with location staff to ensure sufficient inventory of event items and productsMaintain list of local and online vendors to accommodate personalized service needsEvent CoordinationRetrieve and maintain personalized order forms for celebration packagesMaintain a sense of empathy and support when communicating with familiesCreate checklists of contents, items and music needed for servicesWith Manager approval, purchase recommended decor for servicesMay be required to retrieve inventory displays and other items needed from storageCommunicate with location staff scheduling for set up of events and breakdownsIn compliance with company policies and guidelines, manage and file all pre and post forms and documentation in a timely mannerThis is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the essential functions or duties related to this jobMINIMUM RequirementsEducationHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate Degree in hospitality preferred but not requiredCertifications/LicensesValid state driver’s license in good standingExperienceTwo years of hospitality or event planning work experience including assisting with souring, revenue and expenditure trackingOne year funeral industry experience preferred but not requiredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExemplary organizational skillsAbility for a high level of creativity and design techniquesEffective communication skills, both written and oralIntermediate Excel and other MS Office Suite skillsStrong work ethicAbility to adapt to competing deadlinesEffective and empathetic communication skillsWork CONDITIONSWork EnvironmentWork mostly indoors during all seasons and weather conditionsLimited amount of local and/or multiple location traveling requiredComply with Field dress code policyWork PosturesSitting continuously for many hours per day, up to 6 hours per dayClimbing stairs to access buildings when neededPhysical DemandsPhysical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers and phone usageLifting up to 25 poundsOccasional walking, kneeling and reachingWork HoursMay be required to work beyond “standard” business hoursLimited travelPostal Code: 33458Category (Portal Searching): Administration and ClericalJob Location: US-FL - Jupiter #J-18808-Ljbffr Service Corporation International
