Assistant Professor in Modern Chinese History

The Department of History at Claremont McKenna College (CMC) invites applications for a tenure-track position, at the early assistant professor level in Modern Chinese History. The position will begin on July 1, 2027. The successful candidate is expected to hold a Ph.D. in History by the time of the appointment. The successful applicant will teach a survey of Modern China and topical seminars in Chinese History as well as East Asian History. The teaching load is two courses per semester. The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to maintain an active, high-quality research program and the highest standards of excellence in teaching.
