In home and community tutoring and one-on-one care for my 25 year old son. He has autism and does not speak well but can communicate via texting and when you become familiar with what he is saying. He is 6 foot tall and 170pounds. He is ambulatory with some mobility restrictions (low vision and arthritis). He is not independent enough to attend a day program with his older sister with the same diagnosis and we prefer not to place him in low functioning programs. This job offers 40 hours per week helping him with habilitation goals daily, M-F but can be flexible to swap a day for a weekend day when needed. We like to travel, with opportunities to travel with us as his care provider. The daily activities would include assisting him with dressing, personal care, making meals. He loves to learn and works on spelling, reading, Bible study, history or doing activities such as games and puzzles, swimming, taking walks. His community activities would include assisting him at the gym 4 days a week, volunteering time at a local church, grocery shopping, interacting in community with people or events such as eating out, going to a movie or other events. Occasional transport to his therapies which he has 3 times a week. He is a very well behaved and good tempered, happy young man and easy to interact with. No bad behaviors, no behavior plan or medications. Starting pay has room for increase with demonstration of skillset, commitment and dependability.
