Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Location: Richmond, VA

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 3 shifts per week, with every third weekend required.

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting. The successful candidate must possess an active Compact license at the time of submission and hold current BLS certification. This role involves providing compassionate, patient-centered care to oncology patients in a newly renovated 25-bed unit. The ideal candidate should be proficient in accessing portacaths or be willing to learn this advanced skill.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to oncology patients.
• Monitor patient conditions and administer medications as prescribed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and health maintenance.
• Utilize the Meditech documentation system for accurate patient records.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Active Compact RN license.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in oncology nursing preferred.
