HospitalistThe Hospitalist is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals admitted to the hospital. This role involves diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, managing complex cases, and ensuring effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.ResponsibilitiesPatient Care:Conduct thorough evaluations, including taking medical histories and performing physical exams.Diagnose and manage a variety of medical conditions and diseases.Develop and implement treatment plans and monitor patient progress.Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work and imaging studies.Perform medical procedures as necessary and within scope of practice.Coordination and Communication:Collaborate with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care.Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans, progress, and prognosis.Provide discharge planning and patient education to ensure continuity of care after hospitalization.Documentation:Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including progress notes, discharge summaries, and orders.Ensure compliance with hospital policies, legal requirements, and regulatory standards.Quality Improvement:Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.Stay updated on medical advancements and integrate new knowledge into practice.Administrative Duties:Attend and contribute to hospital meetings, including rounds and case discussions.Manage patient flow and coordinate admissions and discharges efficiently.Emergency Response:Respond to urgent medical situations and provide critical care when needed.Participate in on-call duties as required by the hospital.QualificationsEducation: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.Licensure: Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine; valid medical license in the state of practice.Experience: Prior experience in a hospital setting preferred; new graduates may be considered.Skills: Strong diagnostic and clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.Salary: $200,000-$250,000Equal Opportunity EmployerEssen Health care is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, and we seek candidates who desire to work in and serve an ethnically diverse population.
