Physical Therapist

Baptist Memorial Rehabilitation Hospital in Memphis seeks a compassionate Physical Therapist to provide intensive inpatient rehab for adults recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injury, orthopedic surgery, and other complex conditions. You will perform comprehensive evaluations, design and deliver individualized, evidence-based treatment plans, and focus on restoring mobility, function, and independence. Working in a patient-centered, collaborative, mission-driven team, you'll partner with physicians, nurses, and therapists across disciplines, educate patients and families, contribute to discharge planning, and support continuous improvement while growing your clinical expertise in specialized rehab care. Responsibilities Evaluate patients following stroke, brain or spinal cord injury, orthopedic surgery, and other complex conditions to determine functional status and rehab needs. Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based physical therapy plans of care focused on restoring mobility, strength, balance, and independence. Provide daily therapeutic interventions including gait training, transfer training, therapeutic exercise, and functional mobility training. Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, equipment use, and strategies to support continued recovery after discharge. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, occupational and speech therapists, and case managers in an interdisciplinary team. Document evaluations, daily treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and timely in the EMR. Participate in goal-setting, care conferences, and discharge planning to support safe transitions of care. Contribute to quality improvement, clinical excellence, and evidence-based practice initiatives within the rehab hospital.
