Senior Regulatory Counsel (Licensed)

Providing legal and regulatory guidance, the full-time Senior Regulatory Counsel (Licensed) will focus on mortgage origination, conduct legal research, supervise a junior attorney, and translate regulatory requirements into practical business policies in a remote environment. Key responsibilities Research and analyze federal and state laws and regulations affecting the business Provide legal advice and recommendations to leadership and business stakeholders Supervise, train, and mentor a junior attorney while managing legal and compliance origination issues Required qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active bar license in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction 5+ years of legal or regulatory compliance experience in mortgage lending or financial services Experience interpreting regulatory changes and advising on their implementation Extensive knowledge of mortgage origination laws and regulations Experience with loan origination systems, preferably Encompass
