Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

Provide skilled nursing care to adult patients in a Medical Surgical unit, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through assessment, planning, and implementation of care plans. Coordinate with healthcare team members and adhere to unit protocols to maintain high standards of patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess patient conditions and document findings accurately in the EMR.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient status.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with physicians, PCTs, and other team members to develop and update care plans.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and family members on health management and post-discharge care.
  
  
• 
  Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant environment in accordance with unit guidelines.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid RN license with current state licensure.
  
  
• 
  Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a Medical Surgical setting.
  
  
• 
  BLS certification required; NIHSS and Telemetry experience preferred.
  
  
• 
  Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work rotating night shifts and adapt to unit protocols.
  
  
• 
  Experience with Meditech EMR system is a plus.
