General Engineer

Job Title

The duties of this position involve applying extensive technical knowledge to gather, analyze, and evaluate information on program and project issues, considering technological, procedural, financial, and managerial factors.

The role supports the validation and prioritization of NAS needs, communicating them to the National Program Office for funding while aligning with the objectives of the ATO. It also involves supporting program office activities during product development, validation, and verification, suggesting improvements to production and work quality, and developing recommendations to enhance the efficiency of NAS systems through technology modifications and applications.

As the primary technical contact, the incumbent provides guidance and direction on multiple systems, interacting with high-level representatives from both internal and external organizations, including national program offices, ATS and Tech Ops District managers, Engineering and Technical services management, Airports, National Defense agencies, and contractors.

The position may also involve acting as a principal specialist to develop new and innovative approaches, methodologies, and techniques, leading and directing challenging projects, programs, and activities.

Work activities typically impact directly on the objectives of one or more organizational units, major subdivisions, and LOBs/SOs, and may affect the objectives of the FAA.
