Oncology Nurse

Trusted Health is seeking a skilled 4JPP Oncology, Urology & General Surgery Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this travel role, you’ll deliver high-quality patient care across oncology, urology, and general surgery units, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes. Responsibilities Provide direct bedside nursing care to adult oncology, urology, and general surgery patients in an acute care hospital setting Perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and identify early signs of clinical deterioration or post‑operative complications Administer medications, including IV therapies and, where applicable, chemotherapy and biotherapy, following facility protocols and safety guidelines Manage central lines, surgical drains, catheters, and complex wound care, ensuring proper documentation and infection control Develop, implement, and update individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medication regimens, post‑surgical care, and oncology follow‑up requirements Coordinate and communicate effectively with surgeons, oncologists, urologists, anesthesiologists, pharmacists, and allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record (EMR) Respond to medical emergencies and rapidly changing patient conditions using sound clinical judgment and established protocols Adapt quickly to new hospital environments, policies, and workflows as part of rotating travel assignments Work full‑time rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, while maintaining professional standards and compassionate patient care Inpatient oncology nursing Urology and general surgery post‑operative care Chemotherapy and biotherapy administration and monitoring IV therapy and central line management Wound care and surgical drain management Catheter insertion and care (Foley, suprapubic, nephrostomy) Pain assessment and multimodal pain management Patient and family education on oncology and surgical care Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Clinical assessment and critical thinking Recognition and response to clinical deterioration and emergencies Interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication Time management and prioritization in acute care settings Infection prevention and control practices Medication safety and dosage calculation Adaptability to new facilities and workflows (travel nursing) Benefits Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Qualifications Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state(s) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (often required for acute care units) Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification (e.g., ONS or equivalent) preferred Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or similar oncology certification preferred Previous inpatient acute care med‑surg, oncology, or surgical nursing experience Ability to obtain additional state RN licenses for travel assignments #J-18808-Ljbffr Stryker Corporation
