Job Description
RN - Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule

Shift lengths: 36-hour or 48-hour shifts. Weekend requirement: at least 6 weekend shifts every 6-week period. Traveler must be able to work 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day). No requests for time off within the first 2 weeks of the assignment; maximum requested time off: 2 weeks total for assignment. No scheduling requests can be accommodated; flexibility is required.

Assignment Details

Contract positions available. Start dates: 10/12 or 10/26 only.

Requirements

• Active California RN license required at time of submission.
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience, with required experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• First-time travelers accepted with at least 3 years of experience and prior large-facility experience (approximately 400+ beds).
• Telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation skills are required.
• Experience with IV/PICC/central line care and post-procedure/post-op cardiac and catheter care is preferred.
• Comfortable with airway/oxygen management, ventilator/tracheostomy familiarity, blood product administration, and routine wound care.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.

Responsibilities

• Care for adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients, monitoring vital signs and patient status.
• Administer medications and perform treatments according to physician orders.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Conduct assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and treatment plans.
• Document patient information accurately and timely in the electronic health record.

Compliance / Notes

Flu vaccination is required, with no exemptions. COVID-19 vaccine is not required. An EKG exam will be administered on the first day of orientation and must be passed to continue on the contract. Any background or license hits require a detailed written statement; open/pending issues are an automatic redirect.
