The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for maintaining the Camp-Resort’s facilities, structures, and utilities, keeping them operable and in top condition. This is a SEASONAL , full-time or part-time position and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. Maintenance Technician I is the entry-level class in the Maintenance Technician series. Under close supervision, entry-level duties are assigned in the installation, modification, design, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and facilities at the Resort. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES General Duties Monitor and maintain the condition of the Camp-Resort’s property, facilities, and equipment Respond to maintenance requests promptly Assist in planning and executing projects from start to finish Troubleshoot and perform a variety of entry-level duties under close supervision in the areas of: Basic repair/maintenance of doorknobs, locks, hinges, and gates, as required Carpentry Drywall and Painting communal areas and exterior walls Electrical (including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and other guestroom items) Plumbing (e.g., repairing and unclogging toilets, sinks, bathtubs, showers, and exterior drains) Administrative Duties Regularly update Maintenance Supervisor on the status of repairs, preventative maintenance, and other projects Maintains the necessary service records on mechanical and structural systems Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed for park operation, employee relations, timekeeping, and safety. Including ensuring all daily, weekly, and monthly documentation is being completed Other Essential Duties Comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations and procedures Participate in other projects and activities as assigned EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE 1-3 years of consistent and professional work experience in a variety of trades Trade certifications and licenses are highly desired QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Basic computer skills Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail, speed, and accuracy Ability to multi-task and work in a fast‑paced environment Strong work ethic and a positive attitude Required to work nights, weekends, and holidays Work with minimal supervision Maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, coworkers, and management Valid driver’s license ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS Able to lift up to 80 lbs Must be able to remain in a stationary position Regularly move throughout the park Continuously climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and crawl Able to manipulate fingers, hands, and arms to reach, carry, lift, etc. Constant exposure to outside weather conditions Northgate provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
