Videographer/Editor

Our church... is a non-denominational multi-site church with four St. Louis-area campuses where we gather each weekend to study this ancient story found in Scripture that is still transforming lives today. We believe church should be a place where believers in Jesus and skeptics can stand side-by-side to study truth and ask tough questions. We blend teaching and worship with art and technology to create a service where you can experience the message of Jesus in practical and life-changing ways.

Videographer/Editor. .....is a full-time position that will support The Crossing's video team by helping create clear, compelling, and high-quality visual stories that point people to Jesus.

This hands-on role works closely with the Senior Filmmaker to plan, set up, capture, edit, organize, and deliver video content for weekend services, ministries, events, and other church-wide experiences. The Videographer/Editor serves as a second shooter and production partner on larger projects while also taking ownership of assigned video projects from concept through final delivery.

The right person is a dependable, organized, and growing filmmaker who enjoys both the creative and practical sides of video production. They are comfortable jumping in where needed-whether preparing for a shoot, capturing footage, editing a project, organizing media, keeping the studio ready, or responding to a short-timeline weekend request. They receive direction well, communicate clearly, and help the video team work with greater consistency, flexibility, and excellence.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Senior Filmmaker on video projects by assisting with pre-production, shoot preparation, lighting, camera, audio, set-up, filming, post-production, and other production needs.
• Serve as a second shooter on shoots, capturing high-quality video and supporting the Senior Filmmaker in creating strong, complete, and usable footage.
• Lead assigned video projects from initial concept and planning through filming, editing, review, and final delivery, following established creative direction, timelines, and brand standards.
• Create and edit short-timeline "booster" videos and other quick-turn content needed for weekend services, ministry updates, events, announcements, and digital platforms.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and production-ready video studio, including cameras, lenses, lighting, audio equipment, accessories, props, and other production resources.
• Assist with footage organization, file management, project archives, media backups, asset preparation, documentation, and established workflow standards so the team can locate, share, protect, and build on its work with confidence.
• Collaborate closely with the Senior Filmmaker, Art Director, Project Manager, Creative Team, and ministry leaders; communicate progress, meet deadlines, receive feedback well, and perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the video team.

Necessary Skills and Attributes

• Working knowledge of video production and post-production, including cameras, lenses, lighting, audio, basic interview setup, filming, editing, color correction, sound, and final delivery.
• Proficiency with Mac OS and Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and related video-production tools.
• Ability to capture and edit clear, compelling video content while following creative direction, brand standards, production workflows, and project timelines.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills, including the ability to maintain accurate files, media assets, backups, project documentation, and equipment systems while managing multiple assignments.

Education/Training & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in film, broadcast, media production, communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent coursework, technical training, internship experience, or demonstrated ability will be considered.
• One to three years of relevant experience in filmmaking, videography, video editing, church media, agency work, nonprofit communications, or a comparable creative environment preferred.
• A portfolio or work samples demonstrating video-production and editing ability, visual judgment, storytelling, and technical execution is required.
