Job Summary
The organization is seeking a Medical Surgical Oncology Floor registered nurse (RN) for a Night shift position in the local area. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for patients with conditions such as strokes, spinal issues, traumatic brain injuries, altered mental status, and post-operative care for total joints and fractures. The RN will work on a unit with a focus on teamwork, high-quality bedside reporting, and hourly rounding to ensure patient safety and care excellence.

Job Details

• Position Description: This role is in the Medical Surgical Oncology Floor. The unit has 34 beds, including semi-private rooms, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6 during night shift. The team works within a fast-paced environment emphasizing collaboration, patient-centered care, and detailed documentation.
• Required Qualifications: Active BLS certification, NIHSS (preferred), Oregon or eligible for a 90-day temporary license if applicable, with at least 2 years of clinical experience in a medical-surgical or neuro/ortho setting.
• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week. Shifts are from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with no scheduled requests for specific days off.
• Additional Information: Candidates must have neuro and ortho experience, particularly with stroke care, total joints, and related precautions. Telemetry monitoring is supported with basic strip interpretation skills required. Floating to other units such as ICU or ER may be necessary; travelers are first to float within their skill set.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Submission Requirements: Valid license to submit and willingness to wait for license processing are necessary.
