This is a full-time and exempt position. The Role We are a PE-backed, growth-stage healthcare technology company insourcing our accounting function as we scale and prepare for our first external audit. We need a hands-on Controller to own the function end to end. This is a builder's seat, not an oversight seat. You will close the books, own technical accounting, and stand up the processes and controls that make us continuously audit-ready. You'll have transition support as we bring the function in-house, alongside a tax CPA firm that stays external, but in steady state you own accounting. This role suits someone ready to do senior and hands-on work at the same time, and to grow with the company. Key Responsibilities Run the monthly close and consolidation across our multi-entity structure (a partnership holding company over multiple corporate subsidiaries), including intercompany eliminations, and lead the insourcing of our currently outsourced close. Own technical accounting policy and documentation, including revenue recognition under ASC 606 for a model that combines recurring per-member fees with variable performance-based fees, deferred commissions under ASC 340-40, stock compensation under ASC 718, and purchase accounting under ASC 805. Get us ready for our first external audit and then own the audit relationship going forward, building audit-ready support and writing technical accounting memos you can defend to auditors. Maintain and document the internal control environment, including segregation of duties and AP/disbursement controls, in a form auditors will accept. Produce lender deliverables, including covenant compliance certificates and supporting schedules. Record equity accounting on the books (ASC 718 entries for profits interests), while plan administration sits with Finance leadership, legal, and our cap-table platform. Write and maintain close procedures and SOPs, so accounting knowledge lives in documentation rather than in one person. How this role fits You own the books, the close, technical accounting, controls, and audit. FP&A, forecasting, and board reporting sit with our FP&A lead and build on the GAAP numbers you produce. Deal execution sits with the SVP, Finance. Tax (partnership and corporate returns, K-1s) stays with an external CPA firm. What we're looking for Required: CPA with a public accounting (audit) foundation, since moved into industry Multi-entity consolidation and intercompany experience Strong ASC 606 experience in a complex or variable-consideration revenue model Hands-on close ownership as an individual contributor Comfort with finance automation and a willingness to own and improve it rather than work around it Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field Preferred: PE-backed or portfolio-company experience Healthcare technology or SaaS background, or another regulated/complex revenue model Purchase accounting (ASC 805) and post-acquisition integration Experience with debt covenant reporting Experience standing up or insourcing an accounting function What We Offer Competitive salary commensurate with experience Competitive PTO Flexible work arrangements with remote-friendly culture #J-18808-Ljbffr
