Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct bedside nursing care for Medical Surgical and Telemetry patients with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, working alongside a CNA and a Virtual RN in a Co-Care/Virtual Nursing model
• Care for patients with surgical diagnoses including colorectal, urological, gynecological, vascular, EENT, and wound-related conditions
• Manage medical patients presenting with cancer-related diagnoses, lung and heart disease, diabetes, dementia, and substance use disorder
• Collaborate with the virtual nursing team to support admissions, discharge education, care planning, CIWA monitoring, and physician follow-up
• Float to like units within scope of practice as needed to meet staffing needs
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active Alaska RN license required (pending license accepted at submission; license must be in hand prior to offer finalization)
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in Medical Surgical or Telemetry nursing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Willingness to commit to holiday coverage; must be available to work 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Candidate's permanent address must be located at least 50 miles from the facility
• Must submit all requested time off and scheduling requests at the time of initial submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience working in a Magnet-designated or Level II Trauma acute care hospital setting
• Familiarity with Epic charting systems
• Experience working within a co-care or virtual nursing care delivery model
