Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

A healthcare facility in Ottumwa, Iowa is seeking a junior-level Registered Nurse to join its Emergency Room team.

This is a fully on-site, in-person position requiring regular reporting to the facility location. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will deliver direct patient care within a fast-paced emergency department setting, assessing and responding to patients across a wide range of acuity levels. The role involves applying clinical nursing skills and established emergency care protocols in alignment with standard emergency department practice. This is a valuable opportunity for an early-career nurse to develop critical care expertise in a high-energy clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to emergency department patients across all acuity levels
• Perform rapid and thorough patient assessments upon presentation
• Apply emergency care protocols and clinical nursing skills in time-sensitive situations
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in clinical status with appropriate action
• Collaborate with physicians and the emergency care team to ensure coordinated treatment delivery
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation for all patient encounters

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Iowa or a multistate license allowing practice in Iowa required
• Current Basic Life Support certification required
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification required
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification required
• Current Trauma Nursing Core Course certification required
• Iowa Mandatory Reporter certification for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse required
