This position is a full-time opportunity located in Columbus, Ohio.Performs protective services as a uniformed Armed Security Officer to provide safeguards for company and customer assets to include employees, third parties, visitors, tangible, and intangible properties. Under general supervision, demonstrates proficiency in procedures and systems related to Control Center, patrol, and fixed post operations. Demonstrates a high level of capability that is applicable across shifts. Utilizes experience to guide solid decision making. Provides coaching and basic training to junior team members.Schedule:Monday - Thursday, 10:00am - 8:00pmResponsibilitiesAs a Security Officer, the selected individual will deliver comprehensive protective services across a range of operational environments. Responsibilities may include:Operating an active, technology-based security control center, including answering domestic and international calls, dispatching via two-way radio, monitoring video surveillance systems, managing access control, responding to life-safety and security alarms, and maintaining required logsConducting patrol tours on foot or by vehicle to monitor activity on and around the property, making observations, taking appropriate investigative or enforcement actions, and documenting all actions through detailed reportsProviding coaching and basic training to junior Security Officers to support team development and operational consistencyPerforming required security functions at fixed post locations, including lobby and visitor center management, security credential desk operations, checkpoint duties, and perimeter inspectionsFollowing all standard operating procedures and directives in support of security objectivesKey QualificationsHigh school diploma and a minimum of 2 years of applicable experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related fieldDemonstrated complete proficiency as a Security Officer IAbility to stand and walk for up to 90% of the work shift, consistent with physical fitness standards for this roleSuccessful completion of required medical and psychological screeningFamiliarity with standard Microsoft Office applicationsStrong interpersonal skills, including courtesy, tact, and effectiveness when dealing with othersAbility to employ active thinking, exercise reasonable judgment, and maintain composure in stressful situationsAbility to meet all applicable training and regulatory standardsValid Ohio driver's licenseFirearms qualifications (site/role specific)Must be a U.S. citizenCompensation DataBattelle is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $39,000 – $52,000 per year, in addition to our comprehensive benefits package. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
