If you are new to the profession, have just completed your dietetic internship, or are looking to work closely with oncology patients and have acute care experience, we encourage you to apply. You will be supported and receive mentorship from an experienced and collaborative team of Registered Dietitians. Role Overview Provide comprehensive nutrition care to assigned patients by assessing nutritional needs, developing, implementing, and re‑evaluating nutritional care plans. Ensure seamless coverage on inpatient units, collaborating with diverse clinical teams, and referring patients to other services as needed. Counsel patients and caregivers about special nutrition needs and procedures prior to discharge, and coordinate the provision of outpatient nutrition services as needed. Create and update patient nutrition education materials. Train and support staff as assigned. Key Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field. Effective January 1, 2024, the minimum degree requirement for eligibility to take the registration examination for dietitians changed from a bachelor’s degree to a graduate degree. All other didactic and supervised practice eligibility requirements remain the same. Clinical rotation/dietetic internship exposure or registered dietitian experience in an inpatient/acute care hospital setting. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist (CDN) credential from New York State. Passionate and excited about starting or continuing a career path in Oncology Nutrition. Core Skills Clear and compassionate communication and collaboration with patients, families, and care teams. Empathy and cultural sensitivity in patient‑centered care. Ability to adapt and prioritize in a dynamic hospital environment. Critical thinking and problem‑solving to support evidence‑based nutrition decisions. Enthusiasm to learn, train, and support other team members. Additional Information Location: 1275 York Avenue, MSK Main Campus – Food & Nutrition Department. Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8 AM to 4 PM with rotating weekends (8–9 per year) & holidays. We care about flexibility and balancing your work and home life as much as we can to ensure consistency and opportunity across both team and departmental needs.
