LPN / Practical Nursing InstructorThe LPN / Practical Nursing Instructor delivers both theoretical and clinical instruction to nursing students within the practical (vocational) nursing program. This role involves curriculum development, student assessment, supervision in clinical settings, and engagement in departmental and institutional responsibilities.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, deliver, and evaluate classroom lectures, lab exercises, and clinical instruction in foundational nursing topics (e.g. pharmacology, anatomy, medical-surgical nursing, maternal-child, mental health)Supervise students in clinical and simulation environments, ensuring safety, correct technique, and professional behaviorEvaluate student progress, grade assignments/exams, maintain accurate records, and provide feedback/advisingAssist with development, review, and revision of curriculum, course objectives, syllabi, and instructional materialsMaintain clinical site relationships, coordinate student rotations, and ensure compliance with regulatory/accreditation standardsParticipate in faculty meetings, departmental committees, and institutional initiatives (e.g., accreditation, program assessment)Provide student advising, mentoring, and academic support, including office hours and remedial sessionsContribute to recruitment and retention efforts for the nursing program (e.g., info sessions, outreach)Qualifications & RequirementsActive, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant stateEducation: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's in Nursing preferredMinimum of 2–3 years of recent clinical nursing experienceExperience in nursing education or faculty roles preferredStrong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skillsAbility to work with diverse student populations and clinical agenciesProficiency in educational technologies, learning management systems, and curriculum developmentAbility to travel to clinical sites, if required
