General Description:

Fabrication of stainless steel and mild steel components & assemblies to drawings using TIG & MIG welding equipment, grinding, band saws, plasma torch. Qualification under TevTech WPS’s. Gas distribution system fabrication including orbital welding.

Utilization of fabrication and welding skills to meet specifications identified on component drawings, including dimension specifications, angles, flatness, weld preparation, penetration with no porosity. As all components are custom designed and fabricated, the ability to anticipate stress and or movement in components resulting from welding and then compensate for them is critical. Fabricated items include mild steel frames, stainless steel vacuum chambers and stainless-steel vacuum piping.

Position would be primarily welding and fabrication, but may do some of the following as well:

·         Assembly of vacuum furnaces (including piping, frames, gas distribution systems, etc)

·         Operation and testing of vacuum furnaces (including loading, monitoring, unloading, fluid evaluation/changes as needed, insulation repair/replacement as required) 

·         Field service of vacuum furnaces and components.

·         Shipping and receiving, including incoming order inspections.  Order inspections will include the use of micrometers, tape measures, and angle measurements.

Degree:

·         High School diploma or equivalent

Experience:

·         4-5 years’ experience welding with MIG & TIG stainless and mild steel

·         Some assembly and/or operation of vacuum equipment.

·         Some experience with installation, testing, trouble shooting & commissioning of industrial equipment and electronic instrumentation & process controls.

·         Understanding of piping and instrument diagrams, assembly drawings.

·         Incoming and sub-assembly inspection.

Skills:

·         TIG & MIG welding

·         Thorough understanding of mechanical drawings and welding symbols.

·         Ability to work off Piping & Instrument Diagrams, assembly drawings.

·         Mechanical skills, including working with hand tools, cranes, lifts and fork trucks.
