Staff Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure

Salary: $220,000 - 312,000 per year Requirements:

• We need 8+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 4+ years in data or platform infrastructure.
• We need strong hands-on expertise designing and operating batch systems and stream-processing platforms at scale, such as Airflow, Dagster, Spark, Flink, or Kafka Streams.
• We expect familiarity with data quality, lineage, observability, and governance tools.
• We need solid programming ability in Python, with Java, Scala, or Go as a plus, along with strong SQL skills.
• We expect familiarity with cloud infrastructure and broad experience across data stores, including object storage, relational databases, key-value stores, OLAP systems, and search/indexing technologies.
• We need excellent collaboration and communication skills, with comfort leading cross-functional infrastructure decisions.
• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Delta Lake, Iceberg, AWS, or Databricks would be a plus.
• Contributions to open-source streaming or infrastructure tooling would be advantageous.
• Experience supporting ML/AI workflows, training pipelines, or evaluation systems would be beneficial.

• We will have you design, build, and run large-scale batch and streaming platforms that support our product features, analytics, and experimentation.
• You will implement and scale event-driven and streaming systems for real-time data ingestion, transformation, aggregation, and delivery across storage layers.
• You will create self-serve data platforms that enable engineers, data scientists, and analysts to discover data, define contracts, and operate pipelines with minimal friction.
• You will partner with Infrastructure, Platform, and product engineering teams to shape architectural decisions across storage, compute, deployment, and orchestration.
• You will develop tooling, monitoring, and observability that improve confidence in platform reliability and performance.
• You will mentor other engineers on infrastructure and streaming best practices and help define our long-term data infrastructure roadmap.
